USAT Liberty Shipwreck
Do you like exploring shipwrecks?
The USAT Liberty Wreck was built in 1918 as an American cargo warship. The task of the ship with a length of 120 meters is to serve the needs of the United States military in World War II. While in the seas of Bali en route from Australia to the Philippines, this ship was torpedoed by a Japanese submarine. Initially the wreck was at a depth of 8 meters, but shifted to a depth of 35 meters due to an earthquake triggered by the eruption of Mount Agung in 1963.
Currently this magnificent shipwreck is home to a variety of marine life. You will see humphead parrot fish, schools of trevally fish, Leaf scorpion fish, hawksbill, frog fish, grouper, jack fish, clown fishangel fish. Whale sharks, eagle rays and Mola can also be found here if you are lucky.
In addition to the USAT Liberty Wreck, there is a Boga Shipwreck at a depth of 30 meters. Although smaller (40m). The shipwreck is also good. You will meet schools of barracuda fish, batfish, lionfish, moray eels and others swimming around the artificial coral reefs that started in 2012. Very interesting right? Come dive with us now !
